It’s normally around this time that I start to post information about winter task weekends. Due to financial pressure within Warwickshire Wildlife Trust that run the activity, I’m afraid these will no longer take place. It’s disappointing, although I have to say that as few Friends took part its demise may not really be noticed. The Trust has said that the work done by this particular volunteering effort will be picked up by other teams that operate during the week.
In other news, it had been rumoured that there would be another round of disruptive thinning this winter. Rumour or not, I have it on good authority that this will not take place; in fact there is no major maintenance activity planned for the wood in the foreseeable future. Good news!
