Woodland Walk

Karl Curtis from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust led an Autumn walk on Saturday Nov. 10th. It was a fine bright morning, but sadly people must have decided to go to the shops whilst they are still trading.

Karl pointed out various fungi, including candlesnuff
as we walked all the way around the wood.

A dramatic-looking species is the orange peel fungus, looking more like something someone has discarded that a real mushroom.

A pleasant time was had by the few attendees. Those who decided  to go shopping instead of joining us will be kicking themselves at missing the unexpected sight of an arabian warbler * – a real birding rarity. Make sure you join us next time so you don’t miss out again on such exciting possibilities!

(*- although perhaps it could have been a blackcap)
