It’s back to Sunday morning work in Oakley Wood with George Green. If you’re not familiar with this WKWT volunteer activity, take a look at previous information about attending.
This is George’s currently planned schedule, although it tends to be very flexible.
Date | Task |
September 28 | Sycamore “bashing” |
October 26 | Coppicing |
November 24 | Coppicing and dead-hedging |
December 14 | Review and maintenance of previously planted trees. |
January 25 | Tree Planting (TBC) |
February 22 | Hazel screening of path-side ditches |
George says:
“As it stands we will meet in the usual spot in the loading bay for 10:00 am. There is some large scale forestry works planned for this winter so we may need to change the meeting point at some stage, although if this happens I will give people plenty of notice.
“Please drop me an email regarding arrangements for these Sunday sessions if you have not attended before or need a reminder of meeting and parking arrangements.
“If you plan to attend the session on 28th September if you can please let me know via email by Wednesday 24th at the latest that previous information would be appreciated.
“Volunteer Paul has kindly set up a WhatsApp group which we may well mover over to for some communications in future. When you come along to the next session please speak to myself or Paul if you would like to be added to this group.”
I’ll personally be missing the first on Sept 28th as it clashes with our fungi walk, but I’ll hope to attend the others.
