2020 AGM Report

The 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Oakley Wood was held on Wednesday 11th March in Barford Memorial Hall.

Chairman Liz Sheehan welcomed everyone and gave a summary of the year’s activities, and various other reports were provided (see minutes). We were grateful to have Karl Curtis,  Director of Reserves and Community Engagement at the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust present to give an update on management activities in the wood and to answer questions. We also had Kat Reay from the Trust to talk about their Green Connections projects that will involve community work in Oakley Wood.

Following welcome refreshments there was a wildlife quiz created by Susan Watt, which was designed to test the senses, with interesting smells, animal and bird sounds, right through to intriguing “feely” bags. Cathy Kennedy had compiled a clever, rather difficult cryptic crossword style quiz to test the brain, which needed taking home for full appreciation.  It was great fun, with a definite competitive edge!

The draft minutes from the AGM of 18 March 2019 were approved.
